Welcome to the 8th edition of a Conference that started in 2006 and since then has been called Euro-African Conference on Finance and Economics (CEAFE) before we change this year the title to Mediterranean Workshop in Economic Theory (MWET 2020)! Indeed the conference has become one of the regional scientific meetings of Society for Advancement of Economic Theory (SAET: https://saet.uiowa.edu/).
The CEAFE results from the long-lasting collaboration of several universities and research centers: l’Unité Modélisation et Analyse Statistique et Economique (MASE) – Ecole Supérieure de la Statistique et de l’Analyse de l’Information (ESSAI), Centre d’Economie de la Sorbonne – Université Paris 1-Panthéon-Sorbonne, Center of Operations Research and Econometrics (CORE) – Université Catholique de Louvain and the Aix-Marseille School of Economics (AMSE) – Aix-Marseille Université.
The CEAFE/MWET constitutes a privileged forum for scientific discussion and collaboration between researchers in Africa, Europe and the Mediterranean region working in different areas in the domains of Economics and Finance. It aims to enrich our scientific knowledge on the economic and financial problems arising in modern societies, bringing together researchers working in the frontier of knowledge in the areas of Economics and Finance. It covers a wide diversity of methods (theoretical, empirical and experimental) and scientific topics (e.g., theoretical economics, financial economics, political economics, industrial organization, normative economics, public economics, international economics, macroeconomics, labor market, environmental economics, microeconomics, mathematical economics, networks, welfare, social choice, quantitative finance, applied econometrics, financial markets and banking, fiscal and monetary policy, economic growth, development economics, business and financial cycles) to push forward the frontier of scientific knowledge in the areas of Economics and Finance.
The first edition of CEAFE was organized in Tunis in 2006 (Ecole Polytechnique de Tunisie). The remaining conditions on the organizations in 2008 (Tunis, Ecole Polytechnique de Tunisie), 2010 (Paris, Université Paris 1), 2012 (Caire, American University in Cairo), 2014 (Agadir, Ecole Nationale des Sciences Appliquées), 2016 (Marseille, Université d’Aix Marseille) and 2018 (Tunis, Université de Carthage).
